How to succeed in French class

There are 4 keys to success in French class.
  • Come to class on time with all required materials.
  • Focus - in class and when doing work at home.
  • Do some homework most evenings. 
    • Complete assigned work or work not finished in class. 
    • Review the daily lesson or any points you didn't understand well. 
    • Use the internet for practice activities and games. 
    • Watch television or a DVD in French.
  • Submit all assignments on time.  Be sure to follow the instructions given by the teacher.

Classroom procedures

We have only one classroom rule:  Soyez respectueux.  (Be respectful)
Some details of this include:
  • Come to class on time with all required materials.
  • Listen attentively to lessons and presentations.
  • Bring a refillable water bottle, but no food or other drinks.
  • Try to avoid bringing a large bag or backpack.  Leave any bags under the desk so no one trips on them.
  • Cell phones and personal electronic devices can be useful tools.  Appropriate use is allowed and encouraged.  Please read post labelled "Cell phones" for more details.
  • Use your breaks for your personal needs (i.e. water, washroom, locker).
  • Work diligently in class and complete all assigned work - including work given by a substitute teacher.
We will add to this post as we think of more things, but, again, "Be respectful" pretty much covers it.
