Check out the video that the FSF 3U class made and submitted for a University of Ottawa contest. La meilleure classe de français en Ontario! Westdale Secondary 2013  We didn't make the list of finalists, but we had a lot of fun and are very proud of our work.
Reminder re: journal/blog.  We are in the 12th week of this assignment.  If you don't already have at least 9 entries done, get caught up.  See your handout or blog post FIF 1D journal/blog or FSF 3U journal/blog for further details and topic ideas.  Due date: le 13 décembre.

le but d'apprentissage (learning goal): Nous apprenons comment mieux parler et mieux lire.
  • per. 4 class:  Lesson & activity on linguistics & pronunciation with Mlle Sarah.  (per 2  had same lesson on Tues.)
  • Au revoir les enfants:  
    • checked & corrected & discussed questions for scenes 6 -10
    • watched film for those scenes
    • read scenes 11 - 15 - some together in class, some on own
    • finish reading/re-reading scenes 11 - 15 & do questions on handout. 
  • les devoirs: 20 - 30 min
    • re-read Au revoir les enfants ch 11 - 15 & complete handout questions.
    • journal/blog is due le vendredi 13 déc.  May be submitted as URL link or as attachment to my email address: beverly.kukhta-jackson@hwdsb.on.ca  No need to print.  May also be handwritten and handed in if that was the format you used.

  • Opportunity for trip to St.Donat, Quebec Jan 30 - Feb 2, 2013 for $399.  Let Ms.K-J know asap if interested.
  • Essay writing contest: French for the Future - French essay writing contest   Students may choose to do this essay instead of the Bossu de Notre-Dame composition if they wish.  Must speak to Ms.K-J to discuss due dates and format if choosing this option.
  • Lesson & activity on linguistics & pronunciation with Mlle Sarah.  
  • class lunch  was today.  C'était bien amusant et délicieux.  On va le faire encore en janvier.
  • Le Bossu de Notre-Dame:
    • Another very useful site for dictionary use, especially for expressions, is Linguee
    • follow handout of themes & possible questions/subjects for written project (parameters: 2 pgs. double-spaced, show understanding of book & connection to self or our society) - work on ideas & draft (brouillon due tomorrow le vendredi 6 déc.)
    • will also be doing an oral assessment
