learning goal: We are connecting the strands of our course.
- Exam is Tues. January 26 at 10 am - 12 in room 316
- Today, received a copy of the exam - just one task, a comparative essay. Today, tomorrow and Monday, students will be preparing in class for this.
- Steps to prepare:
- Read the essay question.
- Read the poem and listen to the song Dire Straits: Romeo & Juliet
- Analyze the poem. Discuss with a small group or partner. Write notes.
- Make connections to Romeo & Juliet.
- Review handouts and notes in your binder for Comparative Essay from October.
- Brainstorm. mind-map for the exam question.
- Make your own outline. It may be very similar to another student, but each needs to have their own notes. Follow guidelines on the exam handout.
- Choose the quotations that you will use in your essay. Note them with the Act and Scene.
- On Monday, we will review your notes together and then will prepare the outline that you will use on the exam. You will be submitting that on Monday. The teacher will be reading them and will give them to you to use on Tuesday for the exam.
- Culminating Activity:
- Due yesterday: notes based on the template on the Assignment sheet for each presentation. This will be assessed. Submit on Monday if not already in.

- Personal reflection due 2 - 3 days after your presentation. See assignment sheet for details - basically - 1 page typed double-spaced, what did you learn that enhanced your understanding of this course & analyze your performance.
- Homework:
- Culminating presentation. Submit reflection and Notes from each presentation on Monday if not already in.
- Exam preparation.
- Bring a book to read quietly in class for any time that you finish your class work early. Read regularly at home.
FIF 1D

- reading & writing Wed. Jan. 27 at 10 am - 12 in room 316.
- Today, prepared for the written part of the exam. Received exam outline handout with topics, chose a topic, found a partner or small group with same topic and brainstormed ideas and vocabulary together. By end of class Friday, should have an outline done. Students will be preparing in class today, tomorrow and Monday for the exam. Monday, the teacher will be reviewing the draft outline with the students and giving suggestions for the good copy and approving it. You will be allowed to write grammar notes on the back of the outline.
- quiet reading of magazines or Duolingo if need a change of pace.
- les devoirs: Should be spending 15 - 20 minutes daily on French home study Monday through Thursday. If all class work is completed, follow suggestions in:

- exam preparation
