learning goal: We are learning how to do better presentations.
- Did short 1 minute presentations to introduce self or to tell something important about yourself. Included something about goals for this semester. Used some kind of a visual artifact to help illustrate your talk - a photo, trophy, certificate, image, stuffed animal, etc. Also, each student had chosen 2 cards with something NOT to do during a presentation that they demonstrated during their presentation. We debriefed and discussed basics of good presentations.
- Create a note on what to do and what not to do in presentations. Consider making a collaborative note with a classmate using your school Google Drive account. Infographic: Presentation tips for Students and Teachers
- Homework: Get in the habit of doing 20 - 30 minutes of English homework every night Monday to Thursday. Review lessons, extend your knowledge or read.
- Finish note on presentations. Perhaps find a TED talk on public speaking.
- Read over course information sheet ENG 2D with parents/guardians.
- Organize binder with dividers.
- Bring a book to read quietly in class for any time that you finish your class work early. Read regularly at home.
