- Discussion of handout "Narration" and analyzed own story.
- Read poem "Chance Encounter" and analyzed re: narration.
- Reflection to be completed tonight:
- Which is stronger: narrative as a story or narrative as poetry?
- Main characters in the poem - what do we learn about human interaction with animals and nature? How does the voice in the poem feel?
- What are our views about the interactions between animals and humans? How do humans act towards animals? Are animals helpful to humans? In what way?
- Homework: Get in the habit of doing 20 - 30 minutes of English homework every night Monday to Thursday. Review lessons, extend your knowledge or read.
- Re-read handout on narration and poem "Chance Encounter"
- Read over course information sheet ENG 2D with parents/guardians.
- Organize binder with dividers.
- Bring a book to read quietly in class for any time that you finish your class work early. Read regularly at home.
