learning goal: We are analysing characters and comparing film and book versions of a story.
- film: Speak. Watching to review story before guest speaker Tuesday May 24 and will be writing a small reflection (due Wed. May 25 - submitted on paper or in Dropbox) to compare book and film. Include an introduction (title, year released, "based on the book Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson"), give it a rating (choose your own system) and address these 2 questions:
- Did you like the film? Why or why not?
- Did you prefer the book or the film? Why?
- Shakespeare and Twelfth Night
- last chance to submit Act IV & V journals and the puzzle/quiz handout from Tues May 17.
- Character Traits - one of the 4 main characters and use the brainstorming sheets from Tuesday to write an outline for your character analysis.You will also be making a collage of at least 10 images that represent your character. Outline (draft) due Fri.May 20 to show to teacher. Good copy due Fri. May 27. We will have work time with iPad minis next Wed & Thurs May 25-26. Link for assignment checklist/assessment.
- Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare - FULL Audio Book (Or, What You Will)
- No fear Shakespeare - a post-reading resource to compare original and modern texts
- No homework if all caught up for the work this week. Some suggestions if you wish to do some work:
- Character Sketch for Twelfth Night due Fri. May 27.
- Independent reading. Bring a book to read quietly in class for any time that you finish your classwork early. Read regularly at home.

- Groups of 2 - 3 students to create dialogues - invite someone to do something on the weekend, they refuse, giving reason why, negotiations for alternative, accept. Use Tu parles!1 Student Book pgs 32-33, cahier pg.49 and agenda handout to help. Presentations for assessment tomorrow in class.
