- Discussed why not to use Google translate (or other computer translation tools) and watched video Fresh Prince of Bel-Air - original and Fresh Prince of Bel-Air - Google Translate . Showed how to use WordReference on-line dictionary . There are games and a verb conjugator available on that site and it is also available as a free app. Other good tools are Linguee on-line dictionary (good for expressions) , Le grand dictionnaire & Bescherelle (verb conjugations).
- Worked on planning for oral assessment activity "Mon Introduction/Parler de moi-même" where students will introduce themselves by speaking and recording tomorrow using the iPads in the library with the apps/websites Audioboom or Educreations. Make brief notes in French. Do not write sentences. Complete the idea sheet, show it to the teacher, then complete the cue card. Practice it once with a friend for timing (about 2 minutes) and some feedback. Follow instructions on handout given today.
