• On lit: From the HUB module "Reading: la lecture" document "Hachette A2 CE Je me prepare p.32-40".  Do pgs.38 act.16-17 using text documents on pgs.32-34.  Students may work in small groups or on their own. We will correct it on Mon. May 14.
• Le livret pour les nuls - iMovie trailer (Dropbox). Be prepared to show it on Mon. May 14.
• Review le subjonctif: Links on the HUB
• Second version of blog article "Mes buts pour finir le semestre" using expressions requiring the subjunctive i.e. Il faut que je parle 90% en français. Edit it into the original article and republish it. 
• Practice speaking then record your second version using Explain Everything or HT recording for iPad.  Put in Dropbox in the HUB module "le subjonctif".  Due sometime next week.
• le film de vendredi film in French with French subtitles where available - part of the Listening Strand of the curriculum and also for Francophone culture. This is not free time. Students are expected to watch and listen attentively (no iPads, no cellphones, no other work, no sleeping, no earphones, no talking). We are watching: Chocolat.
• Pas de devoirs pour la fin de semaine as long as all caught up. Students may wish to do some review or practice, perhaps using Home Study extras
• iMovie trailer (ready to show Mon. May 14)
• Mes buts pour finir le semestre - 2 versions in one blog post and recording.
• la musique: Ma présentation d'une chanson: See the HUB module "les chansons" submodule "Discovering New Music".

Learning goal: We are reacting to ideas in a novel.

• The Giver: 
• Assignment: Creating a Perfect World. Use the handout from the HUB module "The Giver" submodule "Pre-reading activities". Fill in ideas on the chart on the second page. You will need to have at least 6 boxes with at least 3 ideas in each and you are encouraged to have more. You may work in a small group but each person must complete their own chart. This must be finished for Monday May 14 as we will be using it to create a paragraph. 
• Due: Dropbox - Comparison of the novel and the film: Venn Diagram Details in the HUB. 
• 2nd blog post - The Giver: novel or film? Write and publish this short article. Include: opening sentence, state your preference, give 3 reasons, closing sentence. 
• Kahoot Challenge: The Giver Code: 0192659  Available until May 15 at noon.
• Homework: 
• Creating a Perfect World - chart completed (see above).

• Catch up on reading and quizzes for The Giver if behind.

• On lit: from the HUB module "Reading Activity" document "DELF A1 Hachette CE Je m'entraine". This is a new document and should be the second document in that HUB module. Download it to Notability and do pgs.41-42 act.1-4. Students may work on own or in small groups. We will correct it on Mon. May 14.  
• l'invitation - conversation - see details in the HUB module. Review vocabulary/expressions resource document to prepare for spontaneous conversation this week. Use personal calendar of a typical week. Will continue with assessments next week. 
• le passé composé - avoir et les verbes réguliers - review & practice using 
• Quizlet: le passé composé - avoir et les verbes irréguliers
• new blog post: Speak up Day! Ce que j'ai fait. Start ideas/brainstorming directly into HWDSB Commons, a draft post - perhaps just the infinitives of the verbs you will use, or short phrases.
