le but d'apprentissage (learning goal): Nous apprenons comment parleret écrire de soi-même.
  • Period 1 only:  Je me présente:  in the library recording a 1 1/2 - 2 minutes about self as a formative assessment.  We will be doing a similar recording in June for the oral exam.  Follow handout. Can use an index card with an outline, not a speech - this is a speaking assessment, not reading.
    • When done, can use iPad to work on Qui suis-je, to explore the YouTube channel of the Canadian Olympic team, find some French vocabulary or grammar games i.e. Digital Dialects - French
  • project: Qui suis-je?
    • Follow assignment sheet - requirements, steps & due dates.
    • idea sheet (chart on back of assignment sheet).  Due Tues. Feb. 11.
    • le brouillon (draft) due tomorrow Thurs Feb 13.
      • computer time in class Feb. 13 & 19.
  • Period 3 only: Watched Jacques Brel: Ne me quitte pas & Sting: Ne me quitte pas as a listening activity - handout & filled in missing words.  Also discussed briefly differences in the appearances of celebrities of present day & past i.e. creating "artificial perfection" with make-up, AutoTune, stylists, PhotoShop etc.  Students are encouraged to watch again, and maybe to sing quietly along with the video to practice pronunciation and to increase oral comprehension.
  • les devoirs:
    • Work on Qui suis-je.  Idea sheet due Tues. Feb. 11.
      • le brouillon (draft) dû le jeudi 13 fév. 
      • la bonne copie (good copy) dû le 19 fév.
    • organize binder with dividers and get signature on course outline if not already done.
