Site of the day: Ways to practice French on-line
FIF 2D

  • Watched a couple of short videos spoken in le Chiac de l'Acadie L'histoire de TOY and Acadieman: chiac pour les dummies
  • le passé: le passé composé vs. l'imparfait - lesson, review, examples, discussion, speaking, SmartBoard activities, handout to complete for tomorrow.
  • Cyrano de Bergerac

        • l'imparfait et le passé composé - handout to complete for tomorrow.  Test Fri Nov 28.
        • journal/blog entry for this week - suggested topic: les gestes de bonté spontanés (random acts of kindness) ou - votre choix.  Students should have at least 9 entries completed by the end of this week to be on track.  Blogs are due December 12.

              • video: la meilleure classe de français en Ontario - watched what done so far and filming.
              • Project: Mon histoire de l'enfance - will be doing speaking with another class next Thurs Nov 27, writing and presenting to own class about a memory from childhood.  Develop a mind-map of ideas and vocabulary to use and about an artifact or photo that you can use to illustrate your story.  See generic example in photo to help to create your own mind-map.  You will make a rough copy on paper, then will make a good copy on a card which you will be able to use in your conversation.  You will also be able to use this mind-map when we create your written story later.
              • le passé: le passé composé vs. l'imparfait - Test le vendredi 28 novembre.  Go back over notes and practice sheets.  Create a "cheat sheet" as a study aid.  We may even decide that you will be able to use that as a reference sheet for the test.  You will be receiving some practice handouts to help you prepare for the test.
              • Other choices of activities to do in class when not filming: reading French magazines, Duolingo, Digital Dialects - etc - but MUST be working in French.
