le but d'apprentissage (learning goal): Nous apprenons comment parler des événements au passé.
  • le passé: 
    • quiz: l'action vs. la description: le passé composé vs. l'imparfait - time to review first.
    • lesson: l'action specifique/precise (p.c.) vs. l'action habituelle/repetee ('imparf) - lesson, cards, examples, discussion, handout note Word cloud, practice handout 
  • Cyrano de Bergerac
    • Presentations continue Wed Nov 5 - Acte III scenes 8 - 14 and Acte IV sc.1 - 5 on Fri Nov 7.

    • le passe - finish handout and review today's lesson
    • Cyrano - read Acte III sc. 8-14 to prepare for presentation tomorrow.
      • Prepare for own presentations
    • journal/blog entry for this week - suggested topics: Prenons nos enfants au travail, l'Halloween (écrivez au passé) ou - votre choix.  Students should have at least 7 entries completed by the end of this week to be on track.

le but d'apprentissage (learning goal): Nous apprenons comment mieux s'exprimer en évitant la répétition.
  • Take our kids to work day is tomorrow - Wed. Nov. 5.  There will not be a lesson in this class that day. There will be independent work provided for any students who are at school instead of at a workplace.
  • éviter la répétition: les pronoms d'objet direct & indirect & order of pronouns - entrance card, review, adding new information, examples, checked yesterday's homework, handout in class.  There will be a test on object pronouns in 2 weeks.
  • Notre Dame de Paris - la tâche finale. Time to work in class - brouillon dû le 6 novembre - to be able to type and use BonPatron in the computer lab.  Use brainstorming/idea sheet to create your profile.  Make sure you use "save as" for your brouillon so you will be able to print it to hand it in with the final copy.  We will be asking you to hand in all stages of your project so that we can assess your thinking process.

      • Notre Dame de Paris - character/place profile - draft due Thurs Nov 6.  Make sure to finish it tonight.  Don't wait for tomorrow night - you will be very tired after a day at the workplace.

      • speaking activity with cards
      • Reading and speaking - les Secrets de la main - article, then analysed own lines on hand.  Discussed if agreed with article or not.
      • Vocabulary development: 3 handouts: You mean you have problems: "Do I know you", "Day by day" and "Can you do that".  Answer keys posted below.  Not assigned for homework, but suggested that students invest the time to improve their knowledge and use of French.
      • Small group worked on planning our video for "La meilleure classe de français en Ontario".
