Contest opportunity for students studying French: Concours des dix mots
Site of the day: It's really great! How do you say that in French without using word literally meaning great?  
ENG 2D 
learning goal: We are learning to understand Shakespeare.
  • Shakespeare: Romeo and Juliet
    • Presentations of speech of at least 14 lines  - live or video. Evaluated.  Must introduce with your name and identify the Act, scene and lines i.e. Act II, scene 3, lines 15 - 32. If submitting video, ensure that it works and is loud enough. Submit through your school Google Drive account and share with bkukhtaj@hwdsb.on.ca before midnight. 
    • group discussion re: KWL chart done at beginning of study of play
  • Introduction to To Kill a Mockingbird. Class discussion re: unfair, unjust situations in the world and point of view. Read poem "The Executioner".
  • No homework if all caught up for the work this week. Some suggestions if you wish to do some work:
    • Try to watch an old film - from prior to 1980 - or do some research on old films.
    • Reflection: overdue
    • presentation of speech video if not done live in class (see above)
    • Bring a book to read quietly in class for any time that you finish your class work early. Read regularly at home.
