• Worked in class on brouillon for Au Revoir les Enfants and oral exam preparation.

FIF 3U

• Jean de Florette: finish reading chapters 35, 36, 37, 38.

FIF 1D

• le but d'apprentissage:  Comment ecrire un brouillon d'un bon plan.
• per. 4 class - we went to the Co-op/OYAP fair in the upper gym for part of class.
• Details for oral exam (June 14, 15 and 16) - went over. See separate post labelled "FIF 1D oral exam June 2011".
• Checked outline/plan for essay.  Students began work on the draft (brouillon).  May be hand written or on computer - double spaced.  Due FridayJune 10.  We will be peer editing in class that day.
• Devoirs:  Le brouillon due Friday.  Bonne copie due le 14 juin.

FIF 3U

• le but d'apprentissage: Comment discuter un roman.
• Jean de Florette: finish reading chapter 33 & 34.  Also, did jigsaw activity to discuss themes and events in the book and to generate possible exam questions.
• Devoirs: Reading, fiches "problems" ex. Q and R for tomorrow.

• Work period:  Outline/plan for dissertation (essay) due tomorrow.  Format: diagram or outline, may be hand written or on computer.  Point form only, no sentences.

FIF 3U

• le but d'apprentissage:  Comment mieux lire.
• Jean de Florette: finish reading chapter 32.  Anyone who hasn't turned in chapter summaries must do so by the beginning of lunch tomorrow (electronic - by e-mail or on USB) or will have a detention in room 306.

• lesson and note: les pronoms d'objets directs et indirects. Then completed verbes réfléchis handouts ex. M together.
• Continued group work on generating ideas and planning dissertation "Au Revoir les Enfants".  Students should be almost ready to complete own personalized graphic organizer or outline for their essay.
• Devoirs: work on outline for essay.

FIF 3U

• le but d'apprentissage: Comment mieux lire.
• Jean de Florette: finish reading to end of chapter 31 and must hand in chapter summaries.
• talked about oral exam a bit.  Will be next week and will be reading and a short conversation.  More details to come.

• Worked in groups with similar thesis topics for "Pourquoi est-ce que c'est important de lire Au Revoir les Enfants aujourd'hui?" using a graphic organizer to plan the essay. 
• Watched DVD "Maurice Richard - the Rocket".
• Pas de Devoirs pour la fin de semaine - unless have not completed any previously assigned work.

FIF 3U

• le but d'apprentissage: Comment corriger le "franglais".
• Handed in remaining chapter summaries for Jean de Florette via e-mail attachment to beverly.kukhta-jackson@hwdsb.on.ca and continued reading. Should have completed to end of chapter 28.
• Distributed fiches "problems" ex. O and P. Answers posted at back of classroom. Students can check own work.
• Pas de Devoirs pour la fin de semaine - unless have not handed in chapter summary, or need to catch up in reading, or didn't finish handouts from Thurs or Fri.

• Worked in groups with similar thesis topics for "Pourquoi est-ce que c'est important de lire Au Revoir les Enfants aujourd'hui?" using a graphic organizer to plan the essay.
• Devoirs: Continue planning dissertation.  Find 3 proofs for one of your 2 supporting arguments.

FIF 3U

• le but d'apprentissage: Comment corriger le "franglais".
• Handed in remaining chapter summaries for Jean de Florette and continued reading.  Should have completed to end of chapter 27.
• Distributed fiche "problems" False Friends can lead you astray" - students read all and highlighted the 5 - 10 most important expressions for them and also handouts for ex. M and N.  Answers posted at back of classroom.  Students can check own work.
• Watched some of DVD "Têtes à Claques" to listen to québécois French and enjoy the humour.

• Did "graffitti" activity in groups on chart paper to review themes, characters, events and vocabulary of the novel Au Revoir les Enfants.
• Devoirs:  20 min. Review novel and think about 2 arguments and proofs to support your essay topic.
