FIF 1D
le but d'apprentissage (learning goal): Nous apprenons comment parler de nous-mêmes. 

• Watched video: La ville de Québec
• per. 4 only today.  Per. 2 had administrative assembly, so will receive verb practice package tomorrow.  Practice activities handout package - les verbes au présent.  Answers posted at the back of the classroom and in separate blog posting "FIF 1D les verbes au présent - les réponses".  Check and correct own work.  Due Fri Sept 20 - will be checked before test that day.  This is a method to help you study and learn your verbs before the test.
• assignment: Moi-même - handout - checked idea sheet/outline (the writing process).  Time to work on brouillon in class - due Fri Sept 13, must be double-spaced on paper for editing, so print it if prepared on computer.  May bring a laptop or tablet or use smartphone in class tomorrow if you wish to type, but handwritten is fine.  Follow directions on handout.
• les devoirs:  Work on brouillon for 4 parts of "Moi-même" - due Fri Sept 13.
• Practise/study les verbes au présent - chart, practice pages, test - Fri Sept 20.

• Looked at/listened to weather reports for Météo Hamilton, Ontario Météo Québec video & Météo France video
• assignment: Moi-même - handout - went over it together and how to start idea sheet/outline (the writing process).  Time to work on idea sheet/outline in class.  Idea sheet/outline is due tomorrow.  May bring a laptop or tablet or use smartphone in class tomorrow if you wish to type, but handwritten is fine.

• Checked homework done.
• Verb contest
• DVD: La Panthère rose
• Pas de devoirs pour la fin de semaine, but, finish organizing binder with dividers and sign course information sheet.  Watching one of your favorite DVD's with French audio, no subtitles is an excellent way to improve your oral comprehension.

FSF 3U

• Finished activity "Comment montrer du respect".
• Review: les verbes au présent - réguliers, irréguliers, pronominaux/réfléchis
• mini-lesson - oral & on board
• chart for reference & review (due at end of next week)
• later, there will be more practice & a test
• review of numbers:  Distributed puzzle & reference sheet. 
• les devoirs:  Finish crossword puzzle for numbers, work on verb review chart (not due until late next week), organize binder with dividers, sign course information sheet.

le but d'apprentissage (learning goal): Nous apprenons comment montrer du respect.

• did activity "Soyez respectueux - comment le montrer" to set the norms of our class.  We will complete the posters tomorrow.
• Talked about the importance of always speaking French in class and keeping up with the daily work .  Spend time every day reviewing work done in class and completing any work assigned for homework.  French will become easier and more fun, (and your marks will increase)
• les devoirs: Think about the things you do to show respect, organize binder with dividers and get signature on course outline if not already done.

Bienvenue et Bonjour!!
le but d'apprentissage (learning goal): Introduire le cours.
FIF 1D & FSF 3U  

• Gave course outlines and went over together. Read with your parents/guardians, sign bottom and keep in your binder. If you need a binder, ask. Organize your binder with 4 dividers. See course outline for labels.
• Went over some classroom rules/procedures - see post labelled "Classroom procedures" for details.
• Filled in "Student Information" handout.
• FSF 3U only: speaking activity - moi-même - Short preparation, then talked about self.
• Introduced the one classroom rule: Soyez respectueux. What does that look like?  Wrote ideas on handout to use in a group activity on Monday.
• Discussed why not to use Google translate (or other computer translation tools) and watched video Fresh Prince: Google Translation. 
• les devoirs:  Finish filling in "Comment montrer du respect" handout for group activity tomorrow.
• Read over course information sheet & have parents sign.
• Organize binder with dividers.
