  • exams: written - period 2 - Thurs Jan 23, 10 am - 12 noon
      • period 4 - Mon Jan 27, 10 am - 12 noon
    • listening - Thurs Jan 16, in class
    • speaking - Fri Jan 17, in class - Today, we spoke about requirements for this and how to prepare.  Photos will be posted for a summary of our discussion as soon as I figure out how to make that work with my iPad.  Will be done in the library during class time using the iPads.  One - 2 minutes to talk about "Moi-même".  Aim for good quality speaking for 2 minutes.  Anything after 3 minutes will not be evaluated.  You will be allowed to have an index card with notes on topics and to organize your speaking.  This should be relatively spontaneous, not a rehearsed speech.
  • écoute: DELF A2 activités 13, 14 & 15.  Please note: if you miss any of the listening activities we are doing daily, you may speak with Ms.K-J about coming in at lunch or after school to do them.
  • Compréhension écrite: DELF A2 - handout pgs. 26 - 27.  Complete for tomorrow.  There will be a similar type of question on the written exam.
  • les devoirs: students are encouraged to spend some time reviewing French to prepare for exams.  Some possibilities:
    • Complete the reading handout (compréhension écrite)
    • Au revoir les enfants: watch film again Au revoir les enfants
    • review for exam - organize binder, re-do notes, practice activities or tests, find practice activities or games on internet...

  • Forum national des jeunes ambassadeurs:  Opportunity for leadership training in promoting bilingualism Aug 7 - 12, 2014 in Sudbury, Ontario.  National forum for young ambassadors - apply in February but think about it now. 
  • Talked about essays (Notre-Dame & exam) and importance of planning in French & writing simple, correct sentences instead of translating complex ideas at the same level as your English.  
  • écoute: DELF level A2 - pgs. 9 & 10 activités 1, 2 & 3 (handout + CD)
  • Compréhension écrite: DELF B1 - handout pgs. 30 - 37.  Complete for end of week.  There will be a similar type of question on the written exam.
  • les expressions impersonnelles & le subjonctif -2 handout packages -  Review & work on practice activities over the next week.  Worked on "le livret pour les nuls" project - "booklet for Dummies".  Written & oral presentations for last couple of days of classes using impersonal expressions & le subjonctif.
