le but d'apprentissage (learning goal): Nous faisons des introductions.
    • les introductions
    • Kahoot! Les expressions de la salle de classe.
    • Introduction to oral assessment activity "Je me présente/ Mon Introduction/ Parler de moi-même" Students will introduce themselves by speaking and recording using iPads with the app Explain Everything. Started planning today using criteria for assignment posted in The Hub in the module "Course Introduction". Students will be making a cue card (on paper or on their iPad), making brief notes in French -preferably in the form of a mind-map - see photo below for an example . Do not write sentences.  Mindomo, available on the Hub, is a useful program for mind-mapping. Here is a link for a sample of how to start: Je me présente Mindomo planning. Think about simple sentences, not expressing complex thoughts as you can in English. We will continue work tomorrow.
      • Find photos or images that you can use to illustrate your presentation. Upload the photos to your Google Drive or Dropbox or somewhere that they will be easy to retrieve to add to Explain Everything, or, bring in the item to photograph with the iPad. Photos are a very nice addition to your recording, but the speaking is the most important, so focus on the planning first.
      • Plan your presentation before recording so that it has a beginning, middle and end.
      • Note: instead of Google Translate, use WordReference on-line dictionary but don't translate every word. There are games and a verb conjugator available on that site and it is also available as a free app. Other good tools are Linguee on-line dictionary (good for expressions) , Le grand dictionnaire & Bescherelle (verb conjugations).
      • Here is a link to help with vocabulary and expressions (scroll to the bottom of the article to the section called "7 Quickfire lessons...") Mini Moi: 7 Little Lessons for Talking About Yourself in French
      • Due date will be at the end of next week. There will be more class time to work.
    • les devoirs: Should be spending 15 - 20 minutes daily on French home study Monday through Thursday. If all class work is completed, follow suggestions in Home Study extras
