le but d'apprentissage: Nous écrivons du chocolat. 
  • Choice of:
    • Le chocolat - 2nd blog article - une dégustation et des comparaisons - discussion and planning/outline
    • ReadingLes origines du chocolat. See details in the HUB module “Reading: la lecture” 
    • Ma présentation d'une chanson: Planning time for own presentation. See the HUB module "les chansons" submodule "Discovering New Music" for the assignment details and for links to possible songs.
  • optional: Oral skills self-assessment: from the HUB module "auto-évaluation" - or - use "le site du jour" to talk/review with a partner. 
  • le film de vendredi: film in French with French subtitles where available - part of the Listening Strand of the curriculum and also for Francophone culture. This is not free time. Students are expected to watch and listen attentively (no iPads, no cellphones, no other work, no sleeping, no earphones, no talking). We are ready to start to watch Chocolat.
  • Pas de devoirs pour la fin de semaine as long as all caught up. Students may wish to do some review or practice, perhaps using Home Study extras

Learning goal: We are reading a novel.
  • The Giver: from the HUB module "The Giver" - whole book is there in PDF. Can download this to Notability or iBooks. 
    • Chapter 2: read together. Do the quiz from the HUB submodule "Reading Chapters". Make sure you are in your HWDSB Google Drive to access it. 
  • QuizUp - sign in or install the app and sign up. Try some of the quizzes with a partner in class.

    • Mon blogue: HWDSB Commons. Publish the good copy for introductory article about yourself. 
      • Content:  8 - 10 sentences. Include name, age, school, grade and city, then details about yourself i.e. personality, activities, interesting facts. Include a statement about goals for this course. 
    • 19 Common French Questions You’ll Need to Ask and Answer (site du jour) Talk with your partner to review and practice. Can continue from yesterday or review.
    • Options:  Duolingo or FreeRice.com or Digital Dialects - games or Language Gym
