Students are once again allowed to bring snacks to the classroom (not computer lab), as long as there is no garbage left behind.

le but d'apprentissage (learning goal): Nous apprenons comment parler des événements au passé.
  • écoute: Did a DELF A1 listening activity. Listening exam (worth 7.5% of total mark) will be this Friday during class.
  • Le passé composé + être. Practice writing and speaking. Keep the handout package safely in your binder as you will need it for lessons this week and to study for the exam. corrected pg 23 and did pg 2.  Started one of the puzzles - choice.
  • les devoirs: Watch some French TV, a DVD or listen to French radio to help prepare for listening exam.
    • Listening exam (worth 7.5% of total mark) is this Fri. Jan. 11 in class.
    • Speaking exam (7.5% of total mark) will be next week - Thurs. Jan. 17 - Fri. Jan 18.

  • work time:
    • le conditionnel - handout package to complete and checked from answer pages posted at the back of the classroom. Test Tues Jan 15.
    • preparation for speaking exam: used posters of vocabulary for 12 themes and worked on "Mon dictionnaire personnel".
    • handout: Day by day - differences in jour & journee, an & annee
  • les devoirs:

le but d'apprentissage (learning goal): Nous apprenons comment écrire une lettre de motivation/accompagnment/presentation (cover letter) et de comment se préparer pour une carrière.
  • library seminar room for a presentation from York University York University
  • Find your university and program
  • tomorrow: work time in the computer lab
  • Handout package for culminating project "L'engagement dans une profession". Do research section first and show teacher when completed, then do the "poster" or visual presentation (i.e. PowerPoint or Prezzi or...choice). Students are encouraged to submit the poster/presentation by email: First Class - just type "bev kuk" and my address will be entered automatically. Name any attached files carefully with your name, the assignment and GLC 2O3I. If from outside email, beverly.kukhta-jackson@hwdsb.on.ca. Follow directions on the handout and rubric carefully. We will be in the computer lab on Fri Jan 11, Tues Jan 15 and Fri Jan 18. Students must use their time effectively. They are encouraged to bring laptops or SmartPhones to class for work time when we are not booked into the lab.
