  • le but d'apprentissage:  Comment parler du passé.
  • lesson and note and discussion: le présent, le passé récent, le passé composé, le passé simple, l'imparfait, le plus-que-parfait.  Followed by: create a story (preferably amusing) with at least one example of each of these tenses (except passé simple).
  • les devoirs:  re-do note and review formation and use of the past tenses.
  • le but d'apprentissage:  Comment mieux lire.
  • time in class to discuss the March Break in French.
  • Introduced theme of this unit: les monstres - textbook, photos, discussion - then began reading article "Les monstres à travers les siècles" - introduction and 1st section "le monstre du docteur Frankenstein" using 3 colours of highlighters - one for words that resemble English, one for words that you already know in French then the 3rd colour to highlight words you need to look up in the dictionary.  Look up those words and write them in the margins.
  • lesson and note (handout): le passé composé + avoir + les verbes réguliers
  • les devoirs: Review le passé composé.  Finish highlighting pg. 60 of the monster article handout if not already done.
  • le but d'apprentissage:  Comment parler du passé.
  • time in class to discuss the March Break in French.
  • Distributed textbook, reviewed chapter 1 of "La machine à rajeunir"  and began reading chapter 2 together. 
  • review lesson and note:  l'imparfait - la formation (quiz Wed. March 21) and le passé composé - la formation + some discussion of use.  Handout to practise (just complete the back for now).
  • les devoirs: Re-do note and review (optional: use internet also): l'imparfait & le passé composé.  Re-read pgs. 13 - middle of 15.
