Reminder re: journal/blog.  Due this Friday Dec 13 - may be handed in electronically (email via First Class) up until midnight and still be on time, by 3:30 pm if handing in papers.  If late, student must complete "late assignment form" available in classroom. We are in the 13th week of this assignment.  If you don't already have all 10 entries done, get caught up.  See your handout or blog post FIF 1D journal/blog or FSF 3U journal/blogfor further details and topic ideas.

  • Au revoir les enfants:  
    • checked and corrected scenes 21 - 26, then watched film
    • per. 2 only: read scene 27 together.
  • les devoirs: 20 - 30 min
    • get caught up on any of Au revoir les enfants that you haven't done yet, or re-read sections.
    • journal/blog is due le vendredi 13 déc.  May be submitted as URL link or as attachment to my email address: beverly.kukhta-jackson@hwdsb.on.ca  No need to print.  May also be handwritten and handed in if that was the format you used.

  • Forum national des jeunes ambassadeurs:  Opportunity for leadership training in promoting bilingualism Aug 7 - 12, 2014 in Sudbury, Ontario.  National forum for young ambassadors - apply in February but think about it now.
  • Speaking activity: mes projets pour cette semaine - au futur simple
  • le futur simple: handout - complete for Thurs. Dec 12 or so.  Answers posted on back board in classroom and at le futur simple - les réponses
  • le futur antérieur: 
    • lesson & examples.  See  le futur antérieur 1 le futur antérieur 2 or le futur antérieur 3 for some review & consolidation.  
    • devoirs: think of 5 different activities (5 different verbs) that you will have done by Dec. 25.  Include other useful vocabulary - point form (not sentences), verbs in infinitive form (not conjugated) - for an activity we will do in class tomorrow.
  • Le Bossu de Notre-Dame:
    • Another very useful site for dictionary use, especially for expressions, is Linguee & try exploring the links at Government of Canada Language Portal
    • follow handout of themes & possible questions/subjects for written project (parameters: 2 pgs. double-spaced, show understanding of book & connection to self or our society) - work on ideas & good copy due before winter break.
    • will also be doing an oral assessment 
    • Essay writing contest: French for the Future - French essay writing contest   Students may choose to do this essay instead of the Bossu de Notre-Dame composition if they wish.  Must speak to Ms.K-J to discuss due dates and format if choosing this option.
