  • Thurs. March 10 - special food and French speaking day with Mme Magee. Think about what food you'd like to bring to share.
  • Speaking - la fin de semaine passée de mon ami/amie

  • mini lesson: le futur proche (aller + l'infinitif) (see photo in FSF1D part of post for reminder)
  • le passé composé - review - lesson and practice package with answers - continue to work your way through and use in your newspaper article. Also today, discussed use of l'imparfait - for any times you wish to say: "was ...ing, were ...ing, used to..."  We'll do more work with this tomorrow. 
  • un article du journal (newspaper article - using the past tense). Work on writing draft. Have some available for an editing/revision lesson with Brooke on Wed. Read and analyze the articles in French from last week. The article will not be due until after the break.
  • les devoirs: Should be spending 15 - 20 minutes daily on French home study Monday through Thursday. If all class work is completed, follow suggestions in: Home Study extras

    • 2 students - Article for next Thur. - read, summarize.

    •  finished and presented poster: 10 lies at Westdale (7 lies if individual, 10 with partner, 15 in group of 3 or 4)
    • discussion and vocabulary - pages 18-41 - from handouts. See photo for summary of tips on how to organize your notes to keep for review at end of book for evaluation. 
    • can continue in class tomorrow.
  • Homework: Get in the habit of doing 20 - 30 minutes of English homework every night Monday to Thursday. Review lessons, extend your knowledge or read.
    • Speak - read pages 18-41
    • Examining writing style/language analysis - The Tell-Tale Heart - late - was due Thurs. Feb. 25. 
    • Independent reading. Bring a book to read quietly in class for any time that you finish your class work early. Read regularly at home.

      • la chanson: Google Translate Sings: "Wrecking Ball" by Miley Cyrus (PARODY) and Let It Go - Behind The Mic Multi-Language Version (from "Frozen")
      • Corrected one page of Friday's verb practice: "avoir, être, faire, aller" together, discussed the chart - finish it bit by bit and consider putting it in a plastic page protector when done to use as a reference sheet. We will correct the verb crossword puzzle tomorrow. 
      • mini-lesson; le futur proche - how to say "I'm going to ..." for suggested blog topic for this week. See photo. 
      • Tu parles!1 video #1A plus cahier pages 10-11
      • Descriptions de personnes: cahier pg. 9, Ex. I - discussed adjectives, read instructions and models, used handout to write 10 different adjectives for the 5 people, then wrote a good copy in full sentences to submit by the end of class. Include title, full name and date as usual on submitted work.
