le but d'apprentissage (learning goal): Nous apprenons comment comprendre et résumer les livres français et d'analyser et évaluer la littérature française.
  • Notre-Dame de Paris :  chapter 9 - checked & corrected questions
    • lesson: la narration, l'intrigue, la tragédie vs. la comédie - discussion, SmartBoard, note/handout (see photos below for summary)
    • le projet: distributed handout, discussed, questions, started work in groups - handed in paper with some preliminary planning
  • les devoirs: 20 - 30 min
    • les pronoms d'objet direct -  practice sheet
    • Facebook bonne copie - paper or electronic - past due, needs late note also

le but d'apprentissage (learning goal): Nous apprenons comment mieux comprendre un livre français.
  • Trip to Hamilton Francophone Film Festival on Wed. Nov. 13 in the afternoon to see "Monsieur Lazhar.  Permission forms distributed.  Bring form and $5 asap to reserve your spot.
  • la météo - a student described the weather in Hamilton using the predictions on the website.
  • Le Bossu de Notre-Dame:
    • discussed themes & possible questions/subjects for written project (parameters: 2 pgs. double-spaced, show understanding of book & connection to self or our society)
    • will also be doing an oral assessment - discussed a few ideas
    • short lesson/discussion of life/roles in Middle Ages
    • do summaries of each chapter (in French!).  This will be handed in next Wed Oct 30.  Include:
      • les personnages principaux
      • la scene (quand & où)
      • l'action (à peu près 5 phrases)
      • vocabulaire importante - entre 5 à 10 mots (see question C for ideas)
  • les devoirs:  20 - 30 minutes
    • Le Bossu de Notre-Dame, to end of ch.23, finish reading, resume, think about themes & possible questions for written assessment
