Site of the day: Weird French words Part 3

learning goal: We are comparing different versions of a narrative.
  • Fire alarm - got some fresh air standing on the football field for about 1/2 of our class time today.
  • own ballad
    • Written work overdue yesterday.  See previous lesson posts for details. If not handed in today, will need to complete "Late assignment explanation" which includes comments and signature of student and of parents/guardians. 
  • returned "Into the Woods" reflection with feedback
  • Red Riding Hood - small group analysis and presentation of different versions of the story. Checked stories and analysis handout today and distributed assignment handout (see photo). Group work time. Presentations and submission of written work will be on Monday Oct. 5. 
    • Homework:  Red Riding Hood comparison. Should work for 20 - 30 minutes or so tonight to prepare for tomorrow's group work. See above for details.
      • ballad - Written work was due Tues. Sept. 29. See above for details.
      • Bring a book to read quietly in class for anytime that you finish your class work early.

    • Notre-Dame de Paris 
      • chapter 1 - checked vocabulary and crossword paper done 
      • chapter 2 - checked and corrected Ex. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6.

    • les devoirs: Should be spending 15 - 20 minutes daily on French home study Monday through Thursday. If all class work is completed, follow suggestions in:  Home Study extras

    • les descriptions - les adjectifs - lesson - discussion, examples, notes on board, Student Book page 7, cahier handout page 8 as own note.
      • activity - reference handout, photos, markers, chart paper - lots of descriptive words. See photos below. 
      • Cahier handout page 9 Je m'entraîne - writing - use 10 different adjectives and correct forms and Je parle - think and prepare for speaking activity tomorrow.
