Site of the day: Ordering food in French
ENG 2D
learning goal: We are comparing different versions of a narrative.
  • Red Riding Hood - small group analysis and presentation of different versions of the story. Checked stories and analysis handout today and distributed assignment handout (see photo). Group work time. Presentations and submission of written work will be on Monday Oct. 5. 
    • No homework if all caught up for the work this week.    Red Riding Hood comparison - presentation and submission of analysis Monday. See above for details.
      • ballad - Written work was due Tues. Sept. 29. See above for details.
      • Bring a book to read quietly in class for anytime that you finish your class work early.

      le but d'apprentissage (learning goal): Nous apprenons comment mieux lire.
        • Notre-Dame de Paris 
          • chapter 3 -read together and looked at unfamiliar words on second reading individually.
        • le film de vendredi: On Fridays, we usually watch a film in French with French subtitles where available as a part of the Listening Strand of the curriculum and also for Francophone culture. We are currently watching:  Monsters, Inc. 
          • Pas de devoirs pour la fin de semaine as long as all caught up. Students may wish to do some review or practice. See suggestions below.

          • les descriptions - les adjectifs 
            • Cahier handout page 9, Je m'entraîne - writing - use 10 different adjectives and correct forms - wrote good copy and handed in. Follow models on handout and guidelines discussed and noted on board i.e. double-spaced, title "Les descriptions", full name, date in French.
            • Je parle, cahier pg. 9 - speaking activity in small groups.
