Our class has moved locations.  We are now in room 316.
Terry Fox run/walk tomorrow morning and grade 9 welcome in the afternoon. Special timetable for the day (still have classes, just shorter).
Professional Activity Day Friday September 19.

  • Watched Terry Fox - la persévérance and briefly discussed the Terry Fox run/walk tomorrow.
  • Game: 2 vérités et une mensonge - speaking.
  • le passé composé - checked that practice fiche from Monday was complete.
    • Handout note to help learn irregular verbs.
    • application assignment - 8 sentences.  Le brouillon (draft) due today for editing in class - must be edited by 2 different people.  Time in class to work today.  La bonne copie due tomorrow - double-spaced, title, full name, date.  Hand in brouillon also.
      • for level 4 - need - 8 different verbs, regular and irregular, avoir and etre, le négatif (i.e. Je n'ai pas couru...), l'interrogatif (l'inversion i.e. Avez-vous couru...?), different subjects, interesting sentences with details.
    • quiz - le mardi 23 septembre
  • les devoirs: Students should do 15 -20 minutes of French each night - review, finish class work, reading, watching French television or movies, on-line games or drills...
    • 8 phrases au passé - la bonne copie du demain - see above for details

    • journal/blog entry for this week - suggested topics: Terry Fox, la fin de semaine passée, Supercrawl

  • les verbes au présent - Checked handout chart completed as a reference page for binder.  Students must assure that the chart is correct.  Use Bescherelle.com  and answer keys posted in the classroom and in photos here to help complete correctly.  Try to use logic and look for patterns to learn the verb forms as you complete the chart.  Don't just copy the answers. 
    • Handout package to practice, including a pre-test. Complete at your own pace, have a partner check each page using the answer keys posted in the classroom and at les verbes au present - les reponses  Do your own corrections to practice and learn these verbs.  Completed package (done, checked, corrected) is due Wed. Sept. 24. 
    • There will be a test next week - Thurs. Sept. 25
