Contest opportunity for students studying French: Concours des dix mots

learning goal: We are learning how to understand Shakespeare.
  • Shakespeare: Romeo and Juliet
    • Opportunity to go to Toronto on Mon. Nov. 16 to see Romeo and Juliet. See Ms.K-J for details and forms.
    • Presentation of Acts by groups. Script is overdue and must be submitted, preferably through Google Docs using your school Google account and sharing it with me instead of printing it.
    • Homework :
      • Read one of the other Acts of R & J.
      • Bring a book to read quietly in class for any time that you finish your class work early. Read regularly at home.

    • Notre-Dame de Paris 
      • Content test for chapters 7, 8 & 9 - open book.
      • Newspaper article - follow handout in detail - continue to discuss and complete "le gabarit" (brainstorming of ideas in a graphic organizer) with a partner doing the same event. Finish the graphic organizers (placemat and triangle) for Fri. Nov.13.
      • Examples of newspaper articles: Westdale's Tiny House Project and Westdale Football Champions 
      • les devoirs: Should be spending 15 - 20 minutes daily on French home study Monday through Thursday. If all class work is completed, follow suggestions in:  Home Study extras

        • "Les activités à Westdale",  added to brouillon (draft) of writing activity of about 8 sentences - Intro, do, don't do, would like to try (minimum of 6 activities in total), conclusion. See photo for ideas. Draft (le brouillon) due today- title, name, date, double-spaced. Edited with a friend, added 3 activities and other details such as adjectives and adverbs then wrote good copy. We also did a mini review of conjugating verbs correctly in the present tense. Good copy is due tomorrow. See photo for formatting details, especially if using Google Docs to share.
