Contest opportunity for students studying French: Concours des dix mots

learning goal: We are learning how to understand Shakespeare.
  • Overview activities: Kahoot! Vocabulary Romeo & Juliet and Kahoot! Romeo and Juliet Quiz
  • Shakespeare: Romeo and Juliet
    • Opportunity to go to Toronto on Mon. Nov. 16 to see Romeo and Juliet. See Ms.K-J for details and forms.
    • Groups continued rehearsing or filming the Act assigned to them to present the most important events to the class Thurs. Nov. 12. Script is overdue and must be submitted, preferably through Google Docs using your school Google account and sharing it with me instead of printing it.
    • Listened to recording of play - Act V.
  • Homework :
    • Spend 20 minutes or so on your group's Act - rehearsing or editing video. Presentations are Thurs. Nov. 12.
    • Read other Acts of R & J.
    • Bring a book to read quietly in class for any time that you finish your class work early. Read regularly at home.

  • Notre-Dame de Paris 
    • Played Kahoot! Notre-Dame de Paris
    • In small groups, on chart paper, finished summarizing the major events of each chapter.
    • Lesson - how to write a newspaper article - went over handout in detail, then chose an event from the book, found a partner doing the same event, and started "le gabarit" - brainstorming of ideas. Finish for Fri. Nov.13.
    • Examples of newspaper articles: Westdale's Tiny House Project and Westdale Football Champions 
    • Begin preparing for content test for chapters 7, 8 & 9 - open book - for Thurs. Nov. 12.
  • les devoirs: Should be spending 15 - 20 minutes daily on French home study Monday through Thursday. If all class work is completed, follow suggestions in:  Home Study extras
      • Notre-Dame de Paris - prepare for ch.7,8,9 content test - see above - and might spend some time on le gabarit - brainstorming ideas for newspaper article.
