Contest opportunity for students studying French: Concours des dix mots
Site of the day: Remembrance Day/ Le Jour des Souvenirs

learning goal: We are learning how to understand Shakespeare.
  • Talked about applying strategies of communication other than words: i.e. expression of voice and face, gestures, body language - to presentations of Act of Romeo & Juliet - then watched Adele: Hello in American Sign Language with Molly
  • Shakespeare: Romeo and Juliet
    • Opportunity to go to Toronto on Mon. Nov. 16 to see Romeo and Juliet. See Ms.K-J for details and forms.
    • Groups continued rehearsing or filming the Act assigned to them to present the most important events to the class Thurs. Nov. 12. Script is overdue and must be submitted, preferably through Google Docs using your school Google account and sharing it with me instead of printing it.
    • When done, read the play, preferably our loud in groups.
  • Homework :
    • Spend 20 minutes or so on your group's Act - rehearsing or editing video. Presentations are Thurs. Nov. 12.
    • Read other Acts of R & J.
    • Bring a book to read quietly in class for any time that you finish your class work early. Read regularly at home.

  • Notre-Dame de Paris 
    • Discussed and corrected ch. 9, Ex. 1, 2 & 3.
    • in small groups, on chart paper, summarized the major events of each chapter.
    • Begin preparing for content test for chapters 7, 8 & 9 - open book - for Thurs. Nov. 12.
  • les devoirs: Should be spending 15 - 20 minutes daily on French home study Monday through Thursday. If all class work is completed, follow suggestions in:  Home Study extras
      • Notre-Dame de Paris chapter 9, re-read, and prepare for ch.7,8,9 content test - see above.

    • Talked about strategies of communication other than words: i.e. expression of voice and face, gestures, body language - then watched Adele: Hello in American Sign Language with Molly
    • In groups, finished creating and presenting posters "Les activités à Westdale", then began writing activity of about 5 sentences - Intro, do, don't do, would like to try, conclusion. See photo for ideas. Rough copy (le brouillon) due tomorrow - title, name, date, double-spaced.
