Contest opportunity for students studying French: Concours des dix mots
Site of the day: Advanced French culture
ENG 2D 
learning goal: We are learning how to understand Shakespeare.
  • Shakespeare: Romeo and Juliet
    • Reflection from oral presentations of Act. Good copy due today - Tues. Nov. 24. Submit rubric and rough work also.
    • Act III - vocabulary and multiple choice questions assessments.
    • Act IV & V vocabulary
    • Last task for Romeo and Juliet - choose one speech of at least 14 lines to practice out loud to present Fri. Nov. 27. Does not need to be memorized but must be fluent. May be presented live or on video.
  • Homework:
    • Reflection: assignment due today.
    • Choose and practice own R&J speech presentation for Fri. Nov. 27. See above.
    • May wish to re-read Act IV & V before assessment tomorrow.
    • Bring a book to read quietly in class for any time that you finish your class work early. Read regularly at home.

  • Notre-Dame de Paris 
    • Newspaper article: Follow instructions on handout carefully to complete this correctly. Due date for good copy of article is today,Tues. Nov. 24. Submitting all steps - l'article, le brouillon, 2 listes de controle (the small one signed by your peer editor), 2 gabarits - may submit good copy and draft through Google Drive or as a hard copy. Highlight or underline all examples of le passé composé et l'imparfait.
    • Comparison - book adaptation that we read and Disney film - short discussion, then started watching DVD while taking notes in form of Venn Diagram.
  • le passé - le passé composé et l'imparfait 
    • Handout package. Due last Friday - filled in, checked and corrected. Check and correct own answers at this link.  Use what you learn as you write your newspaper article. There will be a test next Fri. Nov. 27.
    • Handout practice activity today and discussion.
      • les devoirs: Should be spending 15 - 20 minutes daily on French home study Monday through Thursday. If all class work is completed, follow suggestions in:  Home Study extras
