Contest opportunity for students studying French: Concours des dix mots
Site of the day: Random Quebecois French usages to learn

learning goal: We are learning how to understand Shakespeare.
  • Shakespeare: Romeo and Juliet
    • Opportunity to go to Toronto on Mon. Nov. 16 to see Romeo and Juliet. See Ms.K-J for details and forms.
    • Computer lab 319 today.
    • Groups continued preparing the Act assigned to them to present the most important events to the class Thurs. Nov. 12. Groups are preparing the presentation by writing a script, which is due tomorrow, or by the end of today's class. Consider setting up Google Docs using your school Google account for writing the script then just sharing it with me instead of printing it.
    • Students are encouraged to do some research on background, analysis and synopsis of the play to better understand the Act that has been assigned to their group. There is class time every day, but should also be spending some time at home.
  • Homework :
    • Spend 20 minutes or so on your group's Act - reading, research, rehearsal.
    • Comparative Essay - overdue. 
      • Bring a book to read quietly in class for any time that you finish your class work early. Read regularly at home.

      • Begin preparing for content test for chapters 7, 8 & 9 - open book - for Wed. Nov. 11 (possibly Thurs. Nov. 12 - depending on Remembrance Day assemblies).
    • les devoirs: Should be spending 15 - 20 minutes daily on French home study Monday through Thursday. If all class work is completed, follow suggestions in:  Home Study extras
        • Notre-Dame de Paris chapter 9, re-read, and prepare for ch.7,8,9 content test - see above.
