Site of the day: Putting your languages to work - How languages can fund your travels around the world.

FSF 2D  
le but d'apprentissage (learning goal): Nous parlons et écrivons de la nourriture. 
  • computer lab 319.
  • Le songage: Les goûts de notre classe - reading, speaking and writing activity. Continue sharing food expressions in English and equivalent in French in class on chart paper.
    • Finish draft of short composition. Use success criteria. Use editing tools such as Bon Patron to create good copy. May be created on Google Drive - be sure to name document using your full name and FSF2D as part of the title and make sure to copy and paste the draft before editing into good copy. 
  • Blogue - should have at least 2 entries done by the end of this week, and preferably 3.
  • les devoirs: Should be spending 15 - 20 minutes daily on French home study Monday through Thursday. If all class work is completed, follow suggestions in: Home Study extras
    • 3 students - Article for next Thur. - read, summarize.
    • Les goûts de notre classe - good part of brouillon for tomorrow. Good copy on Thur. Feb. 25.

ENG 1D
learning goal: We are learning about short stories.
  • Note: classes have been adjusted. As of Fri Feb 19, ENG2D are in room 107 with Ms.Tofano and ENG1D is in room 316 with Ms.K-J. 
  • 15 minutes independent reading. There will be a tracking/assessment tool for this.
  • Examining writing style - The Tell-Tale Heart - in groups, finish discussion and notes using chart paper. Details on handout distributed in class Friday. Choose 6 - 8 you find most important. Write a good copy to submit Thurs. Feb. 25. Can be submitted through Google Drive - make sure title includes name of assignment, your full name and FSF1D. Share with me: bkukhtaj@hwdsb.on.ca 
  • Time in class to re-read the 4 short stories and notes/questions for test Thurs. Feb. 25.
  • Homework: Get in the habit of doing 20 - 30 minutes of English homework every night Monday to Thursday. Review lessons, extend your knowledge or read.
    • test - short stories (all 4 studied) on Thurs. Feb. 25.
    • Independent reading. Bring a book to read quietly in class for any time that you finish your class work early. Read regularly at home.

    • les lettres:  La Grande Course du Canada. Good copy (handwritten) will be due Wed Feb 24.
