learning goal: We are reading Shakespeare and identifying useful strategies to read better.
- Performance strategies for oral reading presentation Wed. May 4. Listened to "To be or not to be" excerpt from Hamlet read badly by teacher and discussed how to improve. Took notes.
- Shakespeare and Twelfth Night
- Submitted journal for Act I if not done yesterday.
- Finished watching Act I of DVD of Twelfth Night at Stratford, then in groups and class discussion, decided the 2 most important events. Also, students chose favourite character and discussed why chosen.
- Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare - FULL Audio Book (Or, What You Will)
- No fear Shakespeare - a post-reading resource to compare original and modern texts
- read Act II, scene 1 aloud following established procedures and norms (see photo on post April 25) and discussed. Completed journal (handout) for Act II, scene 1. This will be submitted and assessed at the end of Act II.
- performance assessment next Wed. May 4. - 20 lines - handout with details will be given Monday.
- No homework if all caught up for the work this week. Some suggestions if you wish to do some work:
- Speak - Essay - Overdue. If submitted late, complete Late Explanation sheet. See post for more essay information if needed to complete the essay as required.
- Finish journal for Twelfth Night Act II, scene 1 and re-read.
- Independent reading. Bring a book to read quietly in class for any time that you finish your class work early. Read regularly at home.
