learning goal: We are reading the novel Speak.
- Speak
- Overdue: discussion notes and vocabulary sentences. Use checklist (given in class Thurs and at this link: Checklist - Speak Discussion Notes) to ensure best marks. If not submitted by end of day today, must complete "Late Assignment Form".
- puzzles for review - due Tues. April 12. May be done in small groups.
- Planning for essay as summative assessment "How is the novel Speak a relevant book in 2016?". Graphic organizer distributed for planning. There will be class time to work this week and computer time April 18, 20, 21. Link for draft of essay assignment sheet and draft rubric. Handout of completed sheet will be distributed soon.
- Homework: Get in the habit of doing 20 - 30 minutes of English homework every night Monday to Thursday. Review lessons, extend your knowledge or read.
- Speak - see above - spend a bit of time continuing planning essay - have quotations done for 1 theme (2 per theme). Puzzles due tomorrow, April 12.
- Independent reading. Bring a book to read quietly in class for any time that you finish your class work early. Read regularly at home.
