Site of the day: A Brief History of Poutine

le but d'apprentissage (learning goal): Nous évitons la répétition.
  • finished presentations and note-taking/listening assessment for les cercles de litérature
  • éviter la répétition: 
    • les pronoms d'objet le, la, leslui & leur -  speaking, listening, actions with l'impératif to review and practice use of pronouns, orally corrected homework, gave second worksheet for practice - orally with partner first, then written at home
  • relay race - announced winners
  • Conversation for presentation next week - showed and discussed outline, time to brainstorm ideas with partner, gave handout with useful expressions 
  • les devoirs: Should be spending 15 - 20 minutes daily on French home study Monday through Thursday. If all class work is completed, follow suggestions in: Home Study extras
    • review direct and indirect object pronouns and finish handout
    • FSF2D Journal/blog   Should have now completed all ten entries and start working on choosing top 3 for editing.

    learning goal: We are reading Shakespeare.
    • Using evidence to support a point - used a passage from Speak to review this. 
    • Shakespeare and Twelfth Night 
      • Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare - FULL Audio Book (Or, What You Will)
      • No fear Shakespeare - a post-reading resource to compare original and modern texts
      • read Act I, scene 5 aloud following established procedures and norms (see photo on post April 25) and discussed. Completed journals for Act I and submitted. 
      • Watched Act I of DVD of Twelfth Night at Stratford - will finish tomorrow.
      • performance assessment next Wed. May 4. - Introduced - 20 lines - handout with details discussed will be given tomorrow. 
    • Homework: Get in the habit of doing 20 - 30 minutes of English homework every night Monday to Thursday. Review lessons, extend your knowledge or read.
      • Speak - Essay - Overdue. If submitted late, complete Late Explanation sheetSee post for more essay information if needed to complete the essay as required.
      • Finish journal for Twelfth Night Act I, scenes 1- 5. Due by end of class today, but submit tomorrow if not already done. Re-read Act I.
      • Independent reading. Bring a book to read quietly in class for any time that you finish your class work early. Read regularly at home.

          • écoute: cahier pg.35 Ex.A (handout package) & audio track 1.8. Corrected together and listened again.  
        • les activités à la communauté - vocabulary development and speaking - chart papers and categories. Followed up with individual written activity as reference. 
        • game - Je pense à un mot qui commence avec la lettre...
