Site of the day: Gamify It: How to Learn Any Language with Video Games

le but d'apprentissage (learning goal): Nous discutons le language formel et informel. 
  • formal/informal language - video lesson "vous/tu", discussion, examples, notes (see photos)
  • éviter la répétition: les pronoms d'objet direct le, la, les -  lesson, handout note with practice activities (speaking and writing), examples
     
  • les devoirs: Should be spending 15 - 20 minutes daily on French home study Monday through Thursday. If all class work is completed, follow suggestions in: Home Study extras
    • review direct object pronouns and finish handout
    • FSF2D Journal/blog Should have now completed all ten entries and start working on choosing top 3 for editing.

    learning goal: We are reading Shakespeare.
    • Speak - overdue essay - due yesterday:
    • Shakespeare and Twelfth Night 
      • Norms for reading aloud Shakespeare
      • videos: Ian McKellan & Condola Rashad with Orlando Bloom 
      • Iambic pentameter - practiced reading aloud
      • read Act I, scenes 2 & 3 aloud (didn't quite finish scene 3) following procedures and norms established yesterday  (see photo)
      • journals (handout) to summarize/reflect for each scene read. This will be assessed, so be sure to complete and keep it. 
    • Homework: Get in the habit of doing 20 - 30 minutes of English homework every night Monday to Thursday. Review lessons, extend your knowledge or read.
      • Speak - Essay - see above. Due yesterday. If submitted late, complete Late Explanation sheet
      • Watch other short videos of Shakespeare: Denzel Washington  & Helen Mirren
      • Finish journal for Twelfth Night Act I, scenes 2 & 3 (can do up to where we finished today)
      • Independent reading. Bring a book to read quietly in class for any time that you finish your class work early. Read regularly at home.
