Site of the day: "You" in French - tu ou vous?
Opportunity for special ambassador program for students currently in grade 11 French: Forum national des jeunes ambassadeurs  Know anyone who might be interested? Pass on the information to them.

le but d'apprentissage (learning goal): Nous apprenons comment faire des invitations.
  • les invitations: Used livre 32 - 33 (see photos) and cahier handouts 41 and 49 and agenda from Friday to prepare for assessment.  Time in class to practice, then students did assessments
  • les voyages: handout - Je réfléchis cahier pg 51 & Je m'entraine - Voyage unit 2Apg1. - preparing for a trip - did in discussion with small groups.
  • optional; review le passé composé using livre pgs.40, 49 & 59 to help with writing blog posts.
  • les devoirs: Students should be doing 20 minutes or so of home study each evening Mon - Thurs.
    • practice making invitations, then accepting or refusing them to prepare for assessment in class if didn't do it today. 
    • blog/journal entry for this week - if not already done - suggested topics this week - le cancer, or -  une réfléxion de faire un blogue (only if this is your 10th entry).  Should have completed at 10 entries by the end of this week. Entire journal is due Fri. May 15. See FSF 1D journal/blog or handout given in February for details.

  • Notre-Dame de Paris - returned to groups to review and make notes of major events as possible newspaper articles. 
    • Distributed handout for assignment for Newspaper article and explained it.
      • due dates: gabarit - le jeudi 30 avril
        • brouillon - le mardi 5 mai
        • bonne copie - le vendredi 8 mai
    • some time to work in class - choose your event and start planning using first the brainstorming tool, then the gabarit (the triangle organizer). Students may choose to do the planning with another student who has chosen the same topic. Generate ideas together, but each must produce own brainstorm, gabarit and article. The gabarit is due Thurs. April 30 and there will be time in class tomorrow to work. Work on the brainstorming tonight.

    • work on brainstorming for the event you chose for your newspaper article.
