Journal/blog assignment was due Fri. May 18. See handout from February for details. Must still hand in, but must include note for late assignment (see blog post).
FIF 3U
  • le but d'apprentissage: Comment parler des opinions, des sentiments et des doutes.
  • Upcoming work/assessments:
    • le subjonctif - la formation - quiz  TODAY - other quizzes and summative test to follow. Finish and check handouts and complete summary note (preferably done as a mind-map).
    • La Route de Chlifa/Incendies - we are doing a written report/reaction. We will be watching the DVD Incendies on Thurs. May 24 & Fri May 25. Details discussed in class yesterday and given on handout today.  Should be brainstorming and planning now.  Brouillon dû le mercredi 30 mai.
    • la présentation orale - culminating. Introduced last week. Will be due week of June 11-15. Topic - your choice. Format - your choice (i.e. discours formel, PowerPoint, Prezzi, video, etc.). Length - 2 min. May do with a partner - 3 1/2 - 4 min. Objective - show what learned this year. Also will submit written outline
  • We will be watching the film Incendies tomorrow and Friday.
  • les devoirs:  20 – 30 min. of French – La route de Chlifa
    • le subjonctif: Continue to make own Mind Map note by reviewing handout notes, legal size and work on re-writing into own format. Finish and check handouts already assigned
      • quizzes next week and summative test tentatively planned for Fri. May 31
FSF 1D
  • le but d'apprentissage: Comment éviter la répétition.
  • le pronom d’objet direct: Worked on package of handouts that was distributed yesterday. Should be checking answers as complete them using the answer keys (yellow) posted at the back of the room. 
    • When done, try to write a short paragraph (in group or with partner, or on own if they wish) similar to the one that we did yesterday on pg. 117 of their textbook. 
  • Puzzle handout – to be completed for later – Monday is fine.
  • If still need more to do, review passé compose, review and organize other notes, or organize binder. Can also finish any puzzles that not done yet, or use electronic devices with WiFi to find French review and games.
  • les devoirs:  Work for 20 – 30 minutes on French. Ms. Lewis will provide a password for the website “Zondle”access code 2507-6339 where can practise pronouns, or, if not, review pronouns using the internet or by re-writing note.
FSF 2D
  • le but d'apprentissage: Comment écrire la poésie.
  • les pronoms objets : With a partner, do 2 or 3 of the pronoun practice cards orally. Mark down score on sheet received yesterday.  This is the same activity as yesterday, so should be fine to do it.
  • le poème:  Use textbook (Nouvelles Frontières) pgs. 60 – 62 as a model to start writing own poems.
    • Start by brainstorming for ideas for own poetry. Can use style of the poems in the text. Then start writing a poem. Do not need to finish the entire poem for tomorrow, but should have a draft started. I will be checking on progress tomorrow.
  • Puzzle handouts – to develop vocabulary. These puzzles can be done at home and are NOT the priority for today. I will check them next Monday.
  • les devoirs: 20 – 30 minutes of French - le poème, les pronoms, les casse-têtes (puzzles).
