Journal/blog assignment was due Fri. May 18. See handout from February for details. Must still hand in, but must include note for late assignment (see blog post).

  • le but d'apprentissage: le but d'apprentissage: Comment mieux comprendre une histoire.
  • Upcoming work/assessments:
    • le subjonctif -summative test Tues June 5 - 2 questions - A - présent subjonctif, indicatif or infinitif and passé - subjonctif, indicatif, infinitif- handouts to practice with answer keys at back of room. Will be allowed to use one paper 8 1/2 x 11 " both sides as a reference page. Finish and check handouts and complete summary note (preferably done as a mind-map).
    • La Route de Chlifa/Incendies - written report/reaction - brouillon due today for peer editing using handout given Monday, good copy due Fri. June 1.
    • la présentation orale - culminating. Introduced. Will be due week of June 11-15. Topic - your choice. Format - your choice (i.e. discours formel, PowerPoint, Prezzi, video, etc.). Length - 1 1/2 - 2 min. May do with a partner - 3 - 3 1/2 min. Objective - show what learned this year. Also will submit written outline.
  • les devoirs: 20 - 30 min. French - Chlifa, le subjonctif
FSF 1D
  • le but d'apprentissage: Comment mieux écouter le français.
  • Reading from book “Anthologies”.  On own or with small group, choose one article 
    •  “Colosses en Péril” pgs. 30 -31 and the “As-tu compris?” questions pg. 79
    •  OR
    •  “La Montagne meurtière” pgs. 40 – 42 and “As-tu compris?” questions pg. 81.
    •  Read the article together in your group, then answer the “As-tu compris?” questions by discussion and with each member of the group taking their own brief notes.
    • NOTE:  Many students didn't finish this in class, so will continue tomorrow.
  • Students worked on the following in groups or on their own:
    • le pronom d’objet indirect & direct: Package of handouts that was distributed yesterday. Should be checking their answers as complete them using the answer keys (green) posted at the back of the room. This will need to be completed for Friday, not tomorrow.  Read directions carefully.
  • les devoirs: 20 min French - les pronoms handouts or internet
FSF 2D

  • le but d'apprentissage: Comment écrire la poésie.
  • les pronoms objets
    •  pronoun practice cards orally. Mark down score on sheet.
    • Continue work on handouts already given and preparing reference sheet for test Fri. June 1. Answer keys are posted on the side board. Students may wish to make the reference sheet in the form of a « Mind Map ». We looked at examples and method yesterday.
  •  Poems : presentations (le Café de la Poésie) tomorrow. Have poster ready to go and bring some snacks and beverages.
  • les devoirs:  20 - 30 min French - le poème, les pronoms
